Day Trips reached Lake Biwa, Japan's largest lake, less than an hour from the city. Food added curry udon, a dish that deserved its own page rather than a footnote. Stay added a guide to machiya guesthouses — renovated traditional townhouses that sit between a hotel and a full ryokan experience.
The Japanese preview now has seven department hubs
Until this week, only the Plan department had a translated hub page in Japanese — every other department's Japanese articles existed as orphan pages you could only reach by direct link. Things to Do, Food, Stay, Districts, Culture and Day Trips all now have translated hub pages too, so the Japanese site finally has real navigable structure across most of the guide, not just a handful of standalone pages.
